The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for June 2010

dawn doesn't
break
        it comes
together slowly
gathering
             whispers
building
           adding
birdsong
and rustling in
the dew
           accumulating
a soft
        silver in
the sky

extinguishing
stars

motors
and transformers
start up miles
away
       each
adding to the
subtle
vibrations building
in
the atmosphere

a car
might
pass
by
the body flushes
all overnight
     accumulations
     the heat
comes on

[and]
        murmuring
goodbye
to yesterday
