The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for June 2006

wrong window seat
no moving gazes to contain
my thoughts
                   shuddering
through closed eyes
like time itself
                      weighing
the sway

as we pass
the factories and disused
sidings
           rusted
roofs
a single cop
standing
in a parking
lot
watching

the west side
                     track

time as memory
like a string
pulled
           taut
