The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for March 1997

i've always wondered
about women who
line their lips

blood purple silhouete
pouting [in
vitation]

yellow slicker
i have Patti Smith
in my earbuds

hers

who knows

eyes half closed
contemptuous of us
all
lips painted

invitation

red nails
ready for anyone's
eyes who
dares (not
to wonder)
